As you probably can imagine, I hate charging people for missed appointments and I’d rather book with people receiving the services I provide. To schedule, send me a reply email here as soon as possible!

A note about pain.

I see a lot people in various kinds of pain. Sometimes I think I’m not the kind of therapist to go to when you’re in pain because more than likely, I’m not going to give you the solution. I actually realized this week that it’s not that I’m incapable of giving you solutions it’s more that you have to be ready to receive the unlikely solution that you probably won’t want to hear.

Let me explain.

[Some] Pain is not just in your body. And we live in a culture that often believes that if anything is helpful, more of that thing is more helpful. And in pain, trauma, relief, stress, disease, etc… more is not always what you need.

Clients often come in with a list of ailments and their approaches they’ve taken to remedy said ailment and my service is one more approach they are taking. But sometimes we just need to stop. Rest. Drink some water. And rest some more. Sometimes we just need to call a friend and have a deep belly laugh. And more often, we need a long cry to acknowledge our grief.

Listen, I get it. I’m struggling with the same things over here.

I have POTs and dysautonomia, I have to manage my energy outputs everyday and sometimes I feel like pushing myself and other times I have to rest even though I want to go. And that line is very blurry.

All this to say: Yes, I am actually very successful at helping with pain. The question is, are you ready to receive what you may not expect?

[I’ve been writing about pain for years, read this. ]

I want to say, are you ready to break up with pain? I know it’s not that simple. Many people are in real pain for real reasons. I also see a lot of people who are living with pain that is simply unexpressed emotions.

Recently, I saw a meme that said, “You’re not dysregulated, you’re underexpressed!” and I squealed in delight because yesssss. We don’t move our bodies enough in new and interesting ways to keep us connected and coherent. I can get nerdy about this. How are you moving your pelvis? Can you slide and glide into a new way to move your hips outside of the usual planes of movement? Let’s try it together during my next Body Wisdom class!

(Side note: I’m trying something new. Body Wisdom will be every Sunday morning at 8a starting on July 12. These sessions build on each other but are also delightful on their own. If you’ve been hesitant about committing to 4 weeks in a row, now you can come when your schedule allows. Please sign up 48 hours in advance as I do prepare for each class!)

Just a reminder..

As summer approaches, I’m beginning to shift my schedule to better align with my kids being home more.

Motherhood is not something I work around, it’s an archetype I live inside of. And more and more, I’m allowing it to shape how I run my business, how I pace my days, and how I show up in my work. Our culture is shifting and I’m loosening my grip on the grind, focusing in on what nourishes, and allowing that to return.

Because of that, my availability for July and August will be more limited and a bit different than usual.

When my life feels supported, I show up more fully in session.
And when you’re here, receiving care, you are part of that support.

Not in a transactional way, but in a real, human, interconnected way.

There are a few new (and honestly, delicious) offerings I’ve been weaving in:

• {NEW!} Intra-oral + facial massage — for those holding tension in the jaw, face, or nervous system or you have a history of headaches. (and also has a connection to the pelvic diaphragm) This work can be subtle and profound, softening patterns we often don’t realize we’re carrying. This can be added to your session or a session on its own.

• The Soleful Reset (4 hours) — a deeply immersive experience. Think: layers of warmth, intuitive touch, rest, and time stretching just enough for your system to truly exhale. This is one of the most generous ways to receive.

• Love Your Low Back (Add-on to any table session) — You’re feeling the creak and the ache especially in your low back? Yeah, let’s focus on that. I don’t want to take away from the other work we do on the table so let’s add a little extra time and focus up on your low back, QLs, Psoas, pelvis, hip flexors, and gastrocs.

• Postpartum care (Closing of the Bones / Blessingway) — for those in a threshold moment. Whether you’re preparing for a new baby or newly postpartum or tending to an older transition, this work honors the body in its transition and its integration.

I’ve also brought in some beautiful new tools and textures that I can’t wait for you to experience… the kind that make your body say “thank you for that!”

Even when the powers at large are shifting the tides in what we model and consume as human value. I stand firm in my progressive values and everyone deserves the right to equality, dignity, and justice. We’re not going back. These times call for the helpers to emerge. I’ve always held the space to help the helpers.
